A northwestern native with elegant, tall upright stems and loose spires of vivid, lilac-blue, 6-petaled, star-shaped flowers that open from the bottom up, creating a long blooming period. Unlike most bulbs, Cammasia Lily grows best in moist soil with good fertility. Its natural habitat is moist spring meadows in full to partial sun.

PLANTING GUIDE

Camassia leichtlinii 'Caerulea

Perennial, Zones 4-8

Bulb Planting Depth: 4-5"

Height: 28-32"

Spacing: 4 bulbs per square foot

Light Needs: Full sun to light shade

Soil Needs: Moist, fertile soil

Bloom Time: Mid spring

Uses: Flower beds, cut flowers, wild gardens, and naturalizing, moist soils, deer-resistant 

Care:  Amend soil with compost before planting bulbs. Feed with a granular flower bulb fertilizer at planting time or in the spring when the leaves emerge. Cut back spent flowers and allow foliage to die back naturally before removing it (4-6 weeks after flowering). Will continue to multiply each year and can be split every few years.
