Hurrah Mix Petunia

We wanted to offer a mixture that would allow you to grow a lot of those wonderful varieties you see at the garden center in the spring. Some of the highlights are a dramatic carmine, white-throated pinks, reds, and blues, a lovely veined pink, a delicate salmon, a number of red/white, and blue/white bicolors, a pristine ultra white, and deep, deep ultra blue as well as a number of star types.

PLANTING

Petunia hybrida

Annual 

Germination: 10-21 days

Germination Temperature: Optimum soil temperatures 70-80ºF.

Seed Planting Depth: Sow on the surface and press into the soil

Starting Indoors: Start indoors 8-10 weeks before the last frost. Provide 70-80ºF soil temperature. Transplant after the last frost, 12-28" apart. Water seedlings regularly until established. 

Sowing Outdoors: We do not recommend starting petunia seeds outdoors

Growth Habit: Mounding, spreading

Height and Width: 8-10" x 36"

Spacing: 12-18" apart

Light Needs:  Full sun

Soil Needs:  Loose, rich, well-drained

Approximate days to flower from seed: 90-100 days

Uses: Flower beds, containers, hanging baskets, or window boxes 

Care: When grown in containers petunias need to be fertilized and watered regularly. This will keep the plants blooming all season long. During the heat of summer, they will need to be watered a few times a week. When growing petunias in the ground amend the soil with compost before planting.  Apply a liquid fertilizer every 1-2 weeks or use a time-release fertilizer at planting time.
