Gilfeather Rutabaga (Organic Heirloom 85 Days)
The Gilfeather Rutabaga is a legendary root from Vermont that is a cross between a rutabaga and turnip. Developed in the late 19th century by John Gilfeather of Wardsboro. Large, oblong-shaped roots have green shoulders, white flesh, and edible greens. Flavor and texture are excellent, sweet and smooth, improving after a frost. The Gilfeather Rutabaga is a good storage crop for a root cellar.Â
