Tidal Wave Silver Petunia

The silvery-white blooms with dark purple centers are truly distinctive, highlighted by deep purple veins. This variety has a particularly nice aroma in the evening. An All America Selection for 2002. While most of you will grow this variety in a container, they can grow to a height of 3 feet if provided with a trellis. Neither pinching nor pruning is required to produce flowers all season.

Germination: 10-21 days

Germination Temperature: Optimum soil temperatures 70-80ºF.

Seed Planting Depth: Sow on surface and press into soil

Starting Indoors: Start indoors 8-10 weeks before the last frost. Provide 70-80ºF soil temperature. Transplant after the last frost, 12-28" apart. Water seedlings regularly until established. 

Sowing Outdoors: We do not recommend starting petunia seeds outdoors

Uses: Flower beds, containers, hanging baskets, or window boxes 

Care: When grown in containers petunias need to be fertilized and watered regularly. This will keep the plants blooming all season long. During the heat of summer, they will need to be watered a few times a week. When growing petunias in the ground amend the soil with compost before planting.  Apply a liquid fertilizer every 1-2 weeks or use a time-release fertilizer at planting time.
