A worthwhile investment, these plastic trays not only protect your tomatoes against drought by retaining moisture around the root zone, but prevent weed growth around the plant and shield it from cutworms. The red color stimulates growth as well, by reflecting red light back onto the plants, increasing the yield up to 40%. Its split tray design makes it easy to slide around the plant stem, and the corner spikes aid in anchoring it into the ground by covering the outer flange with 1" of soil. Water and fertilize by filling each of the corner holes and the entire tray. You may also add a stake or a cage for support.
