Heirloom – 1800’s. The Hailstone Radish is thought of as the fastest maturing of the radishes available. Roots are round and white like well - a hailstone. Both the tops and the taproot are small, allowing for dense planting. 1” globes are tangy, pungent, and crisp.

Germination Temperature: Optimum soil temperatures 60-75ºF.
Seed Sowing Depth: 1/2" deep
Sowing Outdoors: Starting in early spring. Sow 1/2-1" apart, thin to 1-2" apart, soon after the seedlings emerge.

Harvest: 3-4 weeks after planting at 1” in diameter, pull them promptly as they rapidly decline, becoming tough and pithy
Tips: The Hailstone Radish needs rapid growth for optimum results. Provided fertile soil and consistent moisture. For a continuous harvest make successive plantings every 7-10 days when weather is still cool.
