Motherwort grows to 3 feet tall with small purple flowers that are tucked into the whorls of leaves along the stem. As the Latin name indicates, it has been thought to benefit the heart. Also relieves nervous tension and menopausal symptoms.  50 seeds

Perennial, Zone 4-8

Germination:  14-21 days, 

Seed Planting Depth: 1/8"

Starting Indoors/Outdoors:  Start indoors 6-8 weeks before last frost. Provide 60-70 degree soil temperatures. Transplant 10-12" apart. Sow outdoors in spring when soil warms,or in fall before first frost. Sow a few seeds every 4-6",  thin to 10-12" apart.

Light Needs: Part shade to full sun

Soil Needs: Motherwort needs average to rich, well drained soil
